My Birthday Gift

Author: lionking

Hi Friends! Laptops are really useful for us in our day to day life. I had a desktop computer and it was indeed good. But still I preferred to use a laptop as it would be convenient. Since I like to blog whenever I am free I always love to carry a laptop with me. Unfortunately I did not have a laptop with and I was greatly disappointed. But lady luck struck me. My uncle gifted me a laptop on my birthday. I was very much happy and I began to use it regularly. I carried it wherever I went and blogged often which gave me immense pleasure.

Home Wireless Threats

Author: lionking

By now, you should be aware of the need to secure traditional, wired internet connections.* If you’re planning to move to a wireless connection in your home, take a moment to consider what you’re doing: You’re connecting a device to your DSL or cable modem that broadcasts your internet connection through the air over a radio signal to your computers. If traditional wired connections are prey to security problems, think of the security problems that arise when you open your internet connection to the airwaves. The following sections describe some of the threats to home wireless networks.

What is courage?

Author: lionking

Courage is what it takes to overcome fear. Fear is an emotion appropriate to perceived risk. Thus, to exhibit courage one must both perceive a risk and proceed in spite of it. Suppose a child has fallen through the ice on a lake and could be saved if reached. A person who walks out on the ice believing it to be very thick requires no courage because he perceives no risk even though others may think him courageous. A person who correctly perceives that the ice is thin and stays off it likewise exhibits no courage; rather we call his action prudent or cowardly, depending on whether or not the ice is, in fact, too thin for safety. Courage is required only of a person who proceeds to rescue the child in full knowledge that the ice is thin.

IPL a Human Trade?

Author: lionking

The Indian Premier League or the IPL is governed by the richest cricket board in the world which is nothing but BCCI. In order to show its monetary muscle power the BCCI launched IPL.  I have read stories in my history book earlier that man was traded from one country to another as slaves. But according to me even the IPL looks same but in a hi-fi way. Here the players are traded from different countries like New Zealand, Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa and West Indies too. Here the players are bought by different state teams to play for their brand name. The only difference I see is, during the medieval period people were traded as slaves for work and were treated badly and in ironical way. But in this scenario, players are fixed with a base price and the auction goes upon their head and finally the winner of the bid catches his fish. And here the players are paid a hefty sum along with all benefits like travel, boarding and lodging too. So where is the difference? Can anyone conflict this question?

Avatar—Blockbuster of the Century

Author: lionking

You may have read many reviews about this movie in many journals and articles. But I want to share my opinion through his post. Avatar, the legendary movie directed by James Cameroon has created waves all over the world. It made people wonder that there could be life like this beyond our sight. This movie clearly portrayed about the mind of human beings to invade other places and conquer them. I really don’t know from where this selfish motive of man comes from. Will it be good if an alien planet tries to invade us and acquire our wealth and disturb our habitat? I do not blame the director for portraying humans like that as it is the general tendency of human’s right from the early civilization. But apart from this issue, the movie is a wonder created by him. Needless to say it made people think that a human’s mind is beyond our thinking. And indeed James Cameroon’s mind has worked beyond his normal thinking to achieve this.

Dual Love

Author: lionking

Love is the most enchanting thing in life. Each and every person in the world will fel it at some point in their lifetime. Similarly even I had a girl friend and I was in deep love with her. We were very happy and our life was so great. A few months later, one of my old pals came to see me. We were very good friends together right from childhood. We always shared a close intimacy. My life was so sweet as I had a set of good friends as well as a wonderful girl friend. But everything turned topsy turvy when the demon in me woke up and started to pamper the god in me. Unfortunately my mind turned wild and I had no control over it. I began to like my friend very much and I fell in love with her too. This became a storm in my love life but I decided not to give up. I did not know whether to give up or not but the attraction towards her was strong. Still I am aware that what I am doing is wrong. But I need to control my mind before it bursts out.

Password Efficiency

Author: lionking

Password is one of the most important things that must be kept under wraps at any point of time. It is not shareable to anyone even if it is your spouse. Information in your computer is only as safe as your password. Your password must at least be 8 characters long. It must have a special character along with a capital letter. People who misuse password are greatly vulnerable to security threats and will be decommissioned in case of any security violation. A new type of hacking called phising is on the prowl where hackers track the password of your online accounts and misuse it for theft.  In such cases you can opt for virtual keyboards. But still a threat is a threat. So it is better to keep your password as safe as possible and keep on changing it every now and then.
